yo, yo, yo.....Let's get this money!!!

I already started out with the Boston win, couldn't resist the no-brainededness to it. Figured I'd get a free parlay out of the deal.

Right now the bets I've done are:

(Money Bet) San Antonio -3.5

(Parlay) Portland -.5
Philly -1.0

I'm very well aware they're both road teams and either home team winning wouldn't shock anyone, but I know you liked both, so I'm going with the hot hand, plus I like them too

I'm thinking about doing 1 late parlay as well since there's only 2games tomorrow, one of them being the Heat which I won't touch, other one (Phx @ Toronto full of shade). I don't bet on Heat games, so I was thinking Orlando +4, Dallas -2, Milwaukee Pk

GarrettKall said...

How sick was Tony Battie last night? Dude is looked like the resurrection of Antonio McDyess and Kenyon Martin

Evan said...

Battie was sick! Hes a great fit for Orlando. Appreciate u following the hot hand son. Glad u did the boston bet, I couldnt get it off in time.

Heres what ive done so far

Single bet on Spurs -3.5
2 Team Parlay Bucks -3, Portland -3
2 Team Parlay Philly -2.5, Spurs -2.5

GarrettKall said...

They're talking about Miami right now on NBA TV

Anonymous said...

Thats why i wanted to trade Haslem for Battie, eh coulda been a good starting center to give us 25 good minutes per game, Beasley starts at the 4 and gets his a$$ inside as our #2 scoring option, Marion can play his game as a great fit at SF next to Bease and Wade, etc

Have Magloire and Joel split the other 23 backup center minutes or whatevers.... and youre good to go (courtesy of god-of-basketball aka WADE-DA!)

Crackhead-ass freakin typepad

gotta hate it huh guys?

GO OBAMAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's just like Lincoln I love it

GarrettKall said...

I'm glad, I've been trying to do a complete transformation and get all the cool people to my blog, that way actual intelligent dicussions can take place and everybody can learn stuff instead of wasting time in dumbazz arguments that never amount to anything

GarrettKall said...

McCain's wife wanted to do Dancing With The Stars and he wouldn't allow her to

Anonymous said...

Oh yeah if it does that then i am definitely with it

im just scared that if we get J Oneal that it'll give Spo a reason to bury Beasley into the bench and say we dont need his scoring any more

Fear of it making Haslem all of a sudden get all the PF minutes

which would kill our chances at the finals even worse than playing haslem at center

Posted by: BillyDAkid WADEforMVP2009 | January 17, 2009 at 07:34 PM

OR WORSE: If it caused Beaser to be played at SF

Another concern: perimeter defense, i love Cook as an Eddie Jones type of SF but can he guard Bron?

(Then again Delonte cant guard Wade, our inside-d with Jermaine would be alot better to shut down bron as thats where he scores anyways, we'd have GREAT shotblocking with JO + WADE + Bease + Zo, AND J Jones maybe could factor in as our guy to guard him posey-style... or better yet Deng-style.....

TEAM defense is more important anyways... and Cook IS very good

I would LOVE a J Oneal-Beasley-Cook-Wade-Chalmers starting 5 with Haslem-Zo-Quinn-J Jones off the bench, wouldnt all you?!?!

Anonymous said...

would love that trade as long as beasley is the starter at PF and not Haslem

if it screws up Beasley at all as a PF or 2nd option than i aint with it and would rather see us trade Haslem for Camby or Expirings

Posted by: BillyDAkid WADEforMVP2009 | January 17, 2009 at 07:29 PM

GarrettKall said...

I wouldn't expect Beasley to start from day 1, but eventually he would

GarrettKall said...

Evan what do you think about my 2nd parlay, orl, dall, milwaukee

GarrettKall said...

hey yo I'm gonna run to the store, i'll be back in time for tipoff

Evan said...

I like that parlay alot actually. Orlando game will be tough

Evan said...

So will Dallas, and their testicuar fortitude

GarrettKall said...

well i put it in, Dallas -2, Milwaukee Pk, Orlando +4. Fuck it

Evan said...

Tru that..My final bets r

Single bet on Spurs -3.5
2 Team Parlay Bucks -3, Portland -3
2 Team Parlay Philly -2.5, Spurs -2.5
2 Team Parlay Miami +3.5, Magic +1.5

Question of the night: If Spo decides to play Haslem against Yao for the rest of this game will Yao break Wilt's single-game scoring record?

2nd question: when will Beasley figure out what marion has (that yao is shadowing wade) and attack inside and have a field day thru that single-coverage

3rd question: When will the real d-wade come back to play (he's sucked the past game-and-a-half, actually been kinda subpar ever since that 2nd cavs game)

4th question: did spo ever learn the first rule of basketball in his 15 years in the filmroom? Or was all that time spent developing the haslem man-crush?

5th question: CAN WE PLEASE PLAY A CENTER IN THIS 2nd HALF?!??

PS: we could definitely win this game if a) Wade shows up, b) Beasley goes inside on offense, c)our shooters arent off the 2nd half like they were the 1st, d) spo plays a center every minute that yao plays of the 2nd half

We have a closer that they dont, so as long as its close......

GO HEATr

GarrettKall said...

That's funny Billy. Our offense just sucks tonight, every shot is from 15 feet or farther. We always struggle against teams with teams that don't let us get into the paint. Just feels like with the trade about to happen, we're kind of destined to lose, can't tell me the locker room isn't a little awkward now with all these rumors out there. Also we need the real Chalmers to come back

GarrettKall said...

I swear Marion is playing more inspired because he's trying to get traded, trying to showcase what he can do to end up in Toronto so he can benefit from an open court offense, which will make him millions more

Anonymous said...

I just had to pause the game after the yao travel

so im a little behind

just wanted to say this:

THE WADE-COOK-MARION-BEASLEY-MAGLOIRE LINEUP IS A BEAST!!!!

4PT GAME BABY! WADE IS LETHAL IN THIS UNIT! WE GOT A REAL 2nd and 3rd option, a real sharpshooter, AND a real center!!! PLUS some playmaking!

ALL TO GO WITH THE BEST PLAYER ON EARTH!!!!!

AND the lineup is great on the boards and on defense!!! SIZE, HEART, ATHLETICISM, SKILL, OH BABY I AM IN HOOP HEAVEN WITH THAT LINEUP!!!!

Anonymous said...

Our team is straight up garbage

Im gonna go ahead and give up on the team for a while like i did during the 3game losing streak

someone call me and let me know when spo decides to stop playing haslem over beasley while also playing a real center

wake me up when that happens, team will be garbage until then, no matter how great Wade is (Best player in hte world, only Lebron is even close)

thanks

Anonymous said...

wake me up when the trade happens i guess

spo already fucked up any chance of this team being great with a lowpost presence already on the team while keeping marion by deciding to go the first 40 games yanking Beasley around and playing haslem at center

if he played magloire from the start as starting center with joel getting all backup minutes

while playing Beasley as the 2nd option and gettin his a$$ inside, getting the starting pf minutes with haslem getting ONLY the backup pf minutes

while playing marion as starting sf getting all those minutes

than we wouldnt have to do any trade at all and could keep Marion (a good player that we could use on the glass, on offense, and on defense, as a great fit at SF next to beasley at PF (perfect fit if he ever hits his 3's like he used to))

Whatever, spo phyucked it up, call me when the trade happens.......

GarrettKall said...

good, now we can get this trade done and be on our way to getting that next title

GarrettKall said...

there we go Evan, hit the money bet!!! Got some bad luck in the portland overtime loss, but as long as we keep getting the money bet right, that's the most important thing

GarrettKall said...

since we've started, 3 for 3 on straight up games...I'll take that everytime

GarrettKall said...

well i took the clippers +2 at half just to be safe and possibly hit the middle

GarrettKall said...

Yo League Pass is having a free preview all of next week!

GarrettKall said...

Billy you need to chill with the Haslem bashing, stop throwing our warrior champion under the bus

GarrettKall said...

The Spurs game actually was pretty nail biting up until the very end. Nevertheless, a win's a win. Check it

With San Antonio down 82-81 in the final 2 minutes, Parker spun around Derrick Rose for a layup. Then, on the defensive end Bruce Bowen stole a pass from Nocioni to set up Manu Ginobili's 3-pointer that gave the Spurs an 86-82 lead with 1:04 left.

Ginobili made two free throws to put the Spurs up 88-82 with 36.8 left.

The Bulls had some hope left when Parker fouled Nocioni on a 3-point attempt. Nocioni made three free throws to get to 90-87 with 31 seconds left, but Nocioni fouled Ginobili on a 3-point attempt, who made two of three free throws

Man...I was gone the whole night with some hoes..But overall I made a good 60 bucks, and it looks like u did well too... Portland screwed me and so did the Bucks..Tonight is the first game I missed the Heat. I saw the first half, I couldnt see the second. What happened? Either way..I think me and u can make some serious money with this betting...Im looking forward to our future bets...

GarrettKall said...

We basically were cold all night shooting the ball and Houston couldn't miss, literally. Yao was 12 for 12 for the game. Landry hit some tough shots everytime the shot clock was at 1, everytime we were about to get back in it. Alston too, made every shot it seemed.

Beasley was awful, every single shot was a jumper, only drove a few times. Wade kept us in it and Marion actually had a great game, seems to be extra motivated all of a sudden. Would have been nice to get these kind of efforts from the start, instead of missing multiple games with back spasms.

GarrettKall said...

I made 30 bucks, slowly creeping up, but a lonnnnnnnnnnng way to go. Basically the two games I said I was luke warm on prevented me from winning more. Glad though that I had a chance to bet the Clippers halftime line. Don't know if you ever do that, when you do a parlay and all the earlier games are won, if the last game is close, I'll throw some money on the other team just to protect my bet. Sometimes you get the chance to hit middles if you bought 3 points initially.

Milwaukee fucked it up, couldn't beat LA without Davis, Randolph, Kaman, and Camby who got hurt. They are very up and down, but in retrospect which I always use when a bet loses, they were on the 2nd night of a back to back without Bogut against a team that had lost 12 straight. ANYTIME a team loses more than 8 or so I usually stay away from betting against them, because every game starts becoming a playoff time one, desperate not to be embarrassed.

And with the Portland game, it was overtime, but Charlotte had just beat Boston and at Detroit. The way I see it this is their time to prove to Larry Brown not to make any more deals. Tonight kind of proved that maybe Wallace shouldn't be traded, 31 points, 16 rebounds, and a sick dunk over Oden that got the crowd into the game, got to check it on youtube. Plus Portland is a little shorthanded, Blake's out for a month, Oden fouled out in like 18 minutes. Freaking Roy was 3-10 from the line. He said he's still feeling the effects of his hamstring injury, just to keep in mind going forward.

I picked Charlotte at the beginning of the year to make the playoffs over Miami, but didn't know Richardson would be dealt. Now that they got Diop, they might be a team to keep an eye on, with a nice young nucleus. Still curious to see what happens with Wallace, don't know why they would move him. Augustine is out for a week.

Evan said...

Wow.. I had no idea Bogut wasn't playing. I was lazy with my research, had I known that I would have said that bet is too risky.. Ill take the blame on that one, will make it up no doubt.

Evan said...

Man..I know u dont bet on the Heat, and I know OKC is hot right now. But I gotta like our chances against them tonight.

GarrettKall said...

Yeah I don't bet on the Heat regardless of the situation. But looking at it objectively I don't like it and I'll explain to you my whole thought process in general.

Basically when I look at bets I do the same thing everytime. First I look at the previous days scores and make sure I understand why what happened happened. I must read all the game summaries in addition to the boxscores, if not, I'm not comfortable enough to place anything other than $5 parlays. I prefer reading both teams newspapers as well.

Above all that ideally League Pass is a must. I've never lost money in any season that I had it. Not having it is a new challenge, thats why I feel 2 heads are better than 1. Don't know if you saw where I said we get the free preview starting tomorrow for the whole week. It's like the basketball gods knew we were just about to start.

Most of the time in analyzing results its just a matter of a superior talented team beating an inferior talented one, which is the most common occurence in any sport. Those are the no brainers, the ones you look at, and they jump off the page, like San Antonio beating Chicago, or Boston beating New Jersey.

Also in the NBA, alot more than in football or baseball, the home teams always have a big advantage. So if the team playing at home is inferior talentwise to the road team, those games need to be treated with more caution, because homecourt is almost if not equal importance to talent in the NBA in most arenas.

When I'm looking for the best game to bet on any given night, I look for the one I think will beat the spread by the most. 9 times out of 10 that game will be the one that features a superior team vs. an inferior one. I prefer the bet to be the most superior team vs the most inferior one, but sometimes the spreads on those games will be way too high to trust.

Any double digit spread I usually shy away from straight up, but I will do a 7point tease if there happens to be 3 games on one night that have solid playoff teams at home versus 3 bottom dwellers. Those bets are usually money

No matter what game I like, before I actually bet it I always look for reasons not to, list all the reasons where if it lost, it would not be because of something I hadn't thought of.

An example is either Heat game, last night or tonights. Sure I think Miami SHOULD beat Houston without TMAC and Artest, but if they lose, I know there's the Marion-trade-chemistry excuse where the rumors have to be affecting the locker room somewhat, impossible for it not to be.

So based on that I wouldn't touch tonight's game, because there's too good of agruments to be made on both side.

If Miami wins I can see it because Wade is the best player in the league and Miami's defensive efforts are always more consistent than Oklahoma's.

And if Oklahoma wins I can see it because they're hot right now, have a new energy that's pulsating across their franchise and fanbase right now, which is this city's first real team they can call their own. There's something special to that.

So when I think of Oklahoma's aura, I think of brand new exciting franchise, everyone on the same page, a great positive vibe altogether coming out of there, just beat Detroit by 10 at home, Utah by 21, home game before that lost to Houston by 2, won the 2 before that. People are going there tonight ready to explode.

When I look at Miami's aura, I feel uncertainity, the trade thing looming over everybody. Not a negative energy, but a team that cannot play peak basketball until they either make the trade or when the trade deadline passes. I don't think going in Miami expects to lose, but I do think every single player on the team thinks Marion will be traded, and there's also the matter of what Marion really said to the media, did he asked to be traded, does he really want to be here. The whole situation is just one big question mark. I never feel safe putting my money on unsure things of that nature.

And considering all that, you might very well be right, Miami's more disciplined veteran team might just punch in, go to work, work hard, and get the job done, clock out and be gone. Neither result would surprise me, which is never good for betting purposes.

I'm actually kinda hoping they lose just to push envelope and get this trade done. I don't want anything to happen where it doesn't, and I feel like losing will cure all in this particular scenario

Evan said...

That is so sick that we get free league pass for a week. The basketball gods knew we were collaborating on these bets.

Most of what u say I agree with..But I believe sometimes the spreads are skewed in favor of the clearly inferior team just because they are at home.

I tend not to weigh as much as some people on home court advantage unless its a homecourt advantage that is serious. Teams like the Jazz, Spurs, OKC, Toronto(back in the day), GS (back in the day), Boston etc I take in seriously.

I weigh the poise, veteranship, confidence and mental toughness of a team over home court advantage more times or not.

Man Marion has been playing so good lately, it almost makes me wanna trade Haslem...but I know Marion is too sensitive, and not a good enough spot up shooter to really mesh with the team.. But damn the boy is playing well right now,

GarrettKall said...

Yeah but that only makes me want to trade Marion more, the fact that he's so mentally weak he can't get up for games and play his best unless his name starts being mentioned in trade rumors or that he has some other agenda.

Something is just really wrong with that guy's brain, he's flawed in more ways than I can keep track of. Whether its his inability to make point blank shots, his awkward alien way of shooting jumpers, the fact that he felt overhadowed in Phoenix and forced his way out yet was in the best situation in the NBA, getting grossly overpaid tens of millions of dollars making more than Nash and Amare. And now this crap with the Heat him talking out both sides of his mouths.

I say we get rid of this fraud once and for all, tomorrow. He's probably cost us 5 wins with all his bunny misses

Evan said...

Yea, and I love Haslem

Evan said...

Hey, I wanna go over the spreads for tomorrow asap, cuz the games are early..When ur ready let me know

GarrettKall said...

haslem aint goin nowhere. I'm really disturbed too about how the blog talks about Udonis as though he's part of the problem.

It's really funny how Ira's blog is not at all reflective of what real Heat fans think. It's just this weird collaboration of basketball fans that are all off, unable to grasp the big picture of what it takes to become a title contender in the NBA.

Evan said...

Hey have u heard any info on Wright???

GarrettKall said...

nothing about Wright.....Sorry, I've been out and about, but I'm in for the night now. About to take a look at the games.

My first reaction is skepticism, all these teams playing home day games, which is completely out of the norm. Makes me lean towards thinking there will be more upsets than usual. Plus all the home crowds will be in better than normal moods because they get to miss work, so I'm giving home teams an added advantage, some underdog home teams will win I predict.

Evan said...

Where r u finding odds that are available for tommoro's games?

Evan said...

Who is more worthless?

Fiorentino, Reggie Miller, Cheryl Miller, or Eric Snow??

GarrettKall said...

snow....

See Marion not playing to me makes us better off. It gets rid of the cancer, makes our guys want to prove they don't need him. We got this one

Here's some of the lines

Evan said...

Diawara is a keeper

Magloires post moves are getting muchhhhh better, and his confidence is skyhigh

Magloire>Joel

Joel really is a hustle player, who has very little upside. I like Joel, but Magloire is a better player and a better fit.

Haslem is a warrior. This is why he is the captain on the team, and this is why Wade loves him. There chemistry is sick, and he was a game-time decision tonight, and happened to get his season high in REB'S.

Really nice to see Chalmers get out of his funk. I dont think many us doubted that

D-Wade= Greatest Player on Earth, what more can u say?

GarrettKall said...

i'll take 4-3 everytime going out west. Even when we were the best team in the East we didn't do that good sometimes.

Evan said...

Lets get started and make some money playa

GarrettKall said...

i'm looking at the standings first right quick

Evan said...

Spurs(away) -3.5 against the Bobcats I think is a DEFINITE SINGLE BET

Rockets(home) -2.5 against the Nuggets who have lost 3 out of 4 could be intriguing

Pacers(away) +8 against hornets could also be interesting, to be safe I would probably buy a couple more points for Indians.

Clippers(home) +5 against the Wolves is also noteworthy

Evan said...

Scratch the Clippers..Camby's injury is more severe that first thought

GarrettKall said...

soakin it up

GarrettKall said...

i'm actually liking minnesota alot in that game

Evan said...

Some iffy but interesting bets:

Chicago(away) +2.5 against Knicks could be interesting

Portland(home) -6.5 against slumping Bogutless Bucks

GarrettKall said...

sa is 4-0 all time at charlotte, winning by 8 or more everytime.

Don't know though, Charlotte is hot, winners of 3 straight, and they've never played SA with Bell and Diaw...Augstine though is still out. The last 7 games between the two teams have gone under. Kinda like that more than the spurs at this moment

Evan said...

Charlotte is ballin lately but Spurs are on a mission. I dont like the over/under because when u add up the allowed points the spurs give to the bobcats and vice versa it adds up to 187 pts.

GarrettKall said...

well i know nothing is jumping off the page at me, which is never a good sign. Might have to just stay with parlays, though i need to do a little research

GarrettKall said...

my bad i got a bad stomach ache, will be back in 10, gonna run to the gas station

Go for it homie

GarrettKall said...

i'm just going through each game, gathering info. Got a money pick yet?

This is what I see so far

Spurs(away) -3.5 against the Bobcats I think is a DEFINITE SINGLE BET

Rockets(home) -2.5 against the Nuggets who have lost 3 out of 4 could be intriguing

Pacers(away) +8 against hornets could also be interesting, to be safe I would probably buy a couple more points for Indianas.

Not so sure but intriguing...

The Jermaine O'Neal for Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks trade is gaining momentum and could be finalized within a week if Miami is satisfied with the health and play of O'Neal now that he is back on the floor.

Sources confirmed talks are nearly completed at the highest levels of each organization.

O'Neal, according to sources and various Internet reports, has told friends and acquaintances that he expects to be dealt to Miami. League sources tell the Star that nothing is expected to happen in the next 24 or 48 hours, and it could be more than a week before any deal is finalized.

Evan said...

U get all ur data yet?

Evan said...

Im passin out soon for work.. Where u at Gkall?

Evan said...

Well heres my bets I just put in...

2 Team Parlay- Bulls +2.5, Rockets -2.5 (7.70 to win 20.00)

4 Team Teaser- Rockets +1.5, Pacers +12, Wolves -1, Blazers -2.5 (20.00 to win 60.00)

1 Single Money Bet- Spurs -4 (35.00 to win 32.00)

6 Team Parlay- Bulls +2.5, Spurs -4, Rockets 2.5, Pacers +8, Wolves -5, Blazers -6.5 ( 5.00 to win 242.00)

If I lose both parlays, and my teaser but I win my money bet, I still make 3 bucks lol.
